The start of the Green Team is foggy. Hardly anyone remembers, and those that do don’t remember much. But here is some information collected. One source says that Crackle, Assassin Pro, Rowan Kenobi, Grey/Blue, and Thomas were down near Assassin Pro’s house on Trowbridge. Two people suggested starting a clubhouse. Another source says that everyone was in Rowan’s backyard and she suggested making a clubhouse for counsels of war. (Even then there were wars without a club) The suggested clubhouse was a small hollow bush. Only one (small) person could fit, so they relocated to a different place. However this started, one thing is for sure. Someone saw the irony of having a clubhouse but not a club, and proposed the idea. Rowan suggested the name Green Team, since green was everyone’s favorite color, and team went with green. All the people there agreed, and the Green Team was born. This was likely in the summer of 2010 or 2009.

Backtracking a bit, the first war recorded (and remembered) was one widely known as the Owl-versus-Snap war. This was mainly of Owl (and team) chasing Snap (and team). There was no actual combat. Most of the club was on Owl’s side, with a couple on Snap’s. This was in the days when there was no leader of the Green Team. Many witnesses say that most of the point of this “war” (more like a chase) was because Owl and Snap were in love. Some say this is not true, and some don’t remember. Owl, Grey/Blue, Poison, and countless others were one team. Snap, Crackle, Karate, and Genius were the other. Assassin wavered between sides, changing often, remaining mostly neutral. Rowan acted as a double agent for both sides. This was one of the longest wars in Green Team history.

Somewhere around here, Assassin (Pro) made himself Chief (or Captain) of the club. This period is when the most wars were. There were other, smaller titles along here, such as Patrol Chief (second to Chief) and Second Patrol Chief (after Patrol Chief). These two titles were held by Rowan and Grey/Blue, in that order. There were Third and Fourth patrol chiefs, but none of them were recorded specifically, mostly because they changed around a lot, on account of certain people using bribery. No names. Around this time the first out-of-state members were joined. They had been visiting from North Carolina, and still live there. The real out-of-state and country thing began much later, though. The Chief held the power to fire, promote, and demote anyone that he or she wanted to. They could also do anything they wanted to do. Assassin was the only Chief in Green Team history.

A points system was made around this time. The point system worked like this. The chief could give points, deduct points, and do anything with them. People “lower” in the system could not. This was also the time that a spy network was made.

The next largest war was possibly the Shark-versus-DW war. Labeled Cold War by Assassin. This war was a bit silly. No one gained anything or lost anything. It was only a long-lasting feud between Shark and DW. Records show that we were mostly on DW’s side, but switched sides periodically. DW, Assassin, Karate, Greens, Sheldon, Poison, and Snap were one side.  Shark’s team was himself, Cool Guy, and his cousins. The people who were neutral also were a team-Rowan, Grey/Blue, Small, and Cobra. Rowan was the medic as well.

There were other, smaller wars then these, mainly against DW (for various reasons) He holds the record for the most wars against him. One war was against Poison, which was a bit of a joke. Everyone prepared for this war, and then when Poison finally came out (about a week later) the whole thing was dropped.

There has always been the problem of the city developing (building houses on) the field that the main clubhouse is built in. Certain people in the city system managed to delay this, and so the field is still undeveloped. Jason Freedman was one of our biggest allies on this matter. Sadly, he was fired recently for no other reason then to save money for the city. He was not the only one fired, though. (the concept was less people to pay, more money to do whatever with).

There was the problem of democracy that eventually arose. No one liked the Chief system. It was changed, and there was an election for President. Naturally, everyone wanted to run, and Rowan gave up trying to make an acceptable system. Now there was no leader. The point system was gone. The Green Team functioned like this for a while. Small discoveries were made, little things were dropped, and some new members joined. It was fun and games. There was no clubhouse for some time, and when one was established it was a total mess. The club was diminishing. Nobody cared.

Then around May or June 2013 Assassin, Rowan, and Grey/Blue decided that the club needed a leader. Not a system where one person is the person with all the power, like a Chief, but a presidential system. This did not work the last time, but this time there was a primary, to rule out all but two, then the real election between two people. Everyone ran (except Bethany). Rowan and Assassin won the primary. The overall plan was to have the real election the next day, but so many people were there that they had the real election, which Rowan won. She chose Assassin as vice president and Grey/Blue as head of congress.

Now the club had a system of leaders. The thing was if the president said “If you don’t do this, I’ll fire you” it would not happen, because that was not fair. What the president could do was suggest it to Congress, and Congress would vote, and together the vice president, the president, and all of Congress would decide. (slightly tedious, but absolutely necessary.) The point system was restarted, but slightly different. Anyone could give points. Nobody could deduct points. This way there was no threatening. The clubhouse was thankfully cleaned up. Around this point in Green Team history Sheldon and Greens moved. This started a change in the club. The girl population in it went up and kept going, catching up to the boy population. Adults were also allowed in. In this way the club member population almost tripled, going from about 25 members to 72. (the club keeps expanding, so 72 may not be accurate). New things were tried out, like mining for jet.

When Rowan’s term as president was over, there was another election. Grey/Blue won the election. He chose Rowan as vice president, and Assassin as Commander of the Army. Poison was head of congress. Assassin and Poison decided to switch, they apparently liked each other’s positions. Grey/Blue disapproved of this.

At this point in history, the clubhouse started being vandalized. This was the first time someone ever did that, so the members were a little confused what to do. Finally they started laying traps. Tripwires, buried water balloons, booby traps, and so on. Every place except the entrance was protected. The next day one of the water balloon traps had evidently been working, because it was burst. Nothing other then it was disturbed, which meant that they had been scared off. Victory! They kept at it for some time, until an event stopped it all together. A particular group of soccer kids, practicing in the alley, had been prime suspects of the vandalism. They were coming around one day. Members Rowan, Assassin, Grey/Blue, Cobra, and Bethany were hanging around when one of the boys there ran into the clubhouse and started destroying things. The club members went to stop him, but right at the moment the boy ran out of the clubhouse. He and his friends were arguing when Video (friend of a member) biked into the clubhouse. He went over to the kids arguing and pulled one apart from the others. The kid and him started fighting. Rowan and Bethany were asking “Why are you attacking him?”. Video answered that he didn’t like the kid. They traded challenges for a while, and then Video (who was much bigger then the kid) slammed the kid on the ground. Not a good move. He hurt the kid so badly that the kid started crying. Video looked at him and said “Better start running” and ran toward his bike, calling “Sorry!” as he ran. The members made sure the kid was okay, then started after Nicholas, who had already gotten away. In this way, the club members and the vandals joined sides (against Video). Note: Video is not a Green Team member. The matter was dropped then, because other things tied up the mission. (and the kid could not be found for evidence) Some significant club members came into view, some good influences, some bad influences. Among the good influences was Cobra, who became one of the inner circle club members, meaning that she knew all the secret military operations, helped with them, and so on. Actress also joined around now. Her joining is viewed with argument. Some think she should have never been let in, and some think the opposite. Rowan was also elected president around this time. By luck of the draw, Grey/Blue was presidential stand-in, Assassin was vice president, and Cobra was head of congress. There was a protest (We Want Actress Out) that did not work, but it went like this. Actress and Assassin, Cobra, Grey/Blue, and Poison passed insulting notes to each other. Bethany and Rowan acted as neutral messengers, knowing what each note said on both sides. Finally a note coming back from Assassin’s team said some customary insults, then “We are having war on you in 5.....4......3......” Then there was a line. Actress refused the war, but the other team persisted, chanting “WE WANT ACTRESS OUT!” as they did it. Finally Actress said okay I’m out. Then a bit later she said “I’m back in.” but the protest did not resume, because most of the members had gone home. She is currently still in.

Now the club was running smoothly. It was late summer. Life was good. Nothing was happening. There was one problem: What do we do to make the Green Team better? So the members did not create a problem. They started missions, updated the security, increased spy and military training, wrote classified documents, and tried to restart the school. Only Rowan, Grey/Blue, Assassin, and Actress had classes.

They tried to make a broom for the clubhouse and succeeded. It was made of grass, a cane-stick, and a rubber band (to hold the grass on the stick). They used it for sweeping the clubhouse, but then the clubhouse sign was stolen, along with some long branches used for various things and the broom. Then a lot of people went on vacation, so nobody remembered that there was a mystery to solve. (it is currently still unsolved) The club population was still growing steadily, so the members decided to have a party when there were 50. Then, when there were 50, some of the members could not eat (because of religious reasons). Some went on vacation. When Ramadan ended, school started and tied up most people’s schedules so much that it was impossible to schedule even a small party. The club population climbed and climbed, past sixty, past seventy, and it is still climbing fast. Now the plan is to have a party when there are 100 members.

Then the vandalism started running again. The club has found that it was not the same people. They had one witness (Rowan) no evidence, and a nonexistent clubhouse. The president (Rowan) decided to not have a war, but instead to find the missing clubhouse essentials. This happened to be a tricky task. The members doubted that the suspects could carry the heavy stumps and boards very far, and the suspects' houses were at the other end of the city block. There was no sign of the boards and stumps, though. So various groups of members took turns looking up and down the city block for any sign of them. Finally the stumps and board were found in a different person's yard, around where the members suspected that the suspects had dropped them. They took the stumps and board back, and decided that the suspects probably dropped them, and then the children living in that house had picked them up and taken them into their backyard.

Autumn passed quickly, with school and all the school-related activities. Winter came on, and the members had snowball fights and built snow forts. (a picture of one is in the Gallery).

The Green Team is still growing, thanks to lots of members.
